A business letter is typically several pages long. The first page will be printed on a letterhead sheet and the rest of the pages on simple white paper. But changing the paper manually for each print job is annoying.

Use Word's Page Setup panel to flexibly control the paper feeder. For this you'll need a printer that has at least two paper trays. Place the plain white 'paper in the second tray and the letterheads in the first tray-this is generally the default tray in most printers. Then open 'File I Page Setup ... ' and switch to the 'Paper Source' tab. Now set 'Tray l' in the 'First Page' field and 'Tray 2' for the 'Other pages' and confirm with 'OK'. Whether other settings are required will depend on the printer model and the type of paper used. Microsoft Word will now control the printing exactly as specified-the letter is printed on letterhead paper and the rest of the content lands on normal paper. Note: The tab 'Paper source' may appear different in different versions of Microsoft Word.
