Format pictures on the fly Word isn't a graphics editor but it can be used to tweak the colour, brightness and contrast of photos embedded in documents. If, after inserting a photo, the picture fonnatting toolbar isn't visible, invoke it from the View menu by clicking Toolbars and then Picture. Photos may also be cropped: after clicking the Crop icon simply drag the corners inwards to encoropass the area of interest.
