Emulation, the best form of flattery Being blocked from a website may be an irritant, but is easily overcome with another handy add-on, User Agent Switcher. Once installed it adds a sub-menu to the Tools menu that enables you to select the browser and operating syste;ll you want to display sites. The most useful is Internet Explorer 7 (Windows Vista). This works well even for people using Firefox under Linux and generally overcomes problems with sites that claim to be incompatible with anything other than Internet Explorer.
A related add-on is IE Tab which adds a right-click option to open links in a new tab that emulates Internet Explorer. This is handy for web designers who want to check compatibility with Internet Explorer. It's also worth a try for sites that show rendering problems in Firefox.Ifa page isn't showing correctly, right-click anywhere on the page and choose View page in IE Tab. Some pages won't show correctly in anything other than Internet Explorer. In these cases, choose View page in Ext.App from the right-click menu. This launches the page in Internet Explorer itself.
