Default New PC and new Bios

I'm thinking of buying a new PC and am looking for one where the motherboard manufacturer can automatically scan and upgrade the Bios, without me having to manually find and download it. Does such a computer exist?

I know that a few years ago you had to install the new Bios by copying it to a floppy disk. How do the latest pes do this process when they no longer have floppy disk drives?

There aren't any computers that automatically scan the motherboard and update the Bios, unfortunately. However, new motherboards do come with smarter Bios upgrade tools than older versions. Generally, they come with a Windows utility that updates the Bios more easily, downloading it and installing it without much user intervention. Once it's done, you can simply reboot and the new Bios will be running.

That means no more messing around with floppy disks or typing in commands. On the general subject, though, our advice now remains the same as it always has updating the Bios is probably the most dangerous thing you can do to your computer, because you run the risk of incapacitating it completely, leaving you with a rather large repair bill.
So we'd suggest only upgrading the Bios if you are instructed to do so by a technical support engineer.
