Thread: Reduce file sizes

If your Office documents are getting too big, tuming off a feature called 'Allow fast saves' can save a lot of space. Ifa slide in a Powerpoint presentation is deleted when this option is enabled, it disappears but is not deleted from the file.
Click on the Tools menu and then select Options. Click on the Save tab and then in the box labelled' Allow fast saves' so that the tick disappears. Click on OK to close the Options window.



Clicking on Save in a document will reduce the file size. It will also remove any infollllation that was deleted from the document; very useful for avoiding the sending of private data by mistake. This tip works with all the programs in Office 2003.
The disadvantage is that saving will take a little longer.
