Tucked away in a corner of Church Street, just off Bangalore's bustling Brigade Road is a shop that stands out only because of the large sign that offers 'upto 90 % off' on their stock. With all the neon, and food smells that dominate the street, chances are you might miss it. A pity, because it houses one of the best book collections I have ever seen. Shelves loom large with books stacked sky high and the slightly musty but always comforting smell of paper and ink hangs in the air. Faced with a problem plenty, a book review comes in handy. I tend not to lay much stock in critics owing to an innate mistrust of people paid to find fault with others' work. I prefer the opinion of people who love to read and share their opinions with other readers.
I chanced upon while looking for independent reviews. It features a large selection of book review blogs that cover a gamut of topics from fiction, biographies, and technology, to fantasy and children's books. It will take time to browse but it's worth the effort.

A blog dedicated to comic books is Started by a blogger whose love for comics started when his mother bought him a Spiderman comic to keep him quite on a road trip, it offers regular updates on a wide range of comic books. But what really got my interest was a site that lets you be a reviewer. Just sign up at and you could be eligible to receive books in the mail that you could review for your blog. You get an initial 2 chapter preview in your email and the book follows by US mail. And as I wait for my book, I wish you all a very Happy Ne,,:, Year and end on a beginning. In the words of Edith Lovejoy Pierce, "We will open the book. Its pages are blank. We are going to put words on them ourselves. The book is called Opportunity and its first chapter is New Year's Day."
