Windows Explorer starts with the My Documents (XP) or the Documents (Vista) folder opened. However, it can be changed to open your choice of folder. First, create a shortcut to Explorer on the Windows Desktop or Quick Launch bar, right-click on it and select Properties. Now click the Shortcut tab and, in the Target section, click just to the right of the explorer.exe. Type a space and then fe,c:\folder - this will tell the shortcut to start Explorer with the folder c:\folder open. Change this text to suit the folder you want, so it might look like: fe,c:\mystuff\work.
