If your Vista Sidebar contains a clock then why waste valuable space on the Taskbar with another? To turn it off, and save space, right-click an empty part of the Taskbar, click Properties, select the Notification Area tab and untick Clock before clicking Apply. The same option can be found in Windows XP by right-clicking the taskbar and selecting Properties -look for the option marked 'show the clock'.
