“I have just bought Net gear DG834GT 108MBPS wireless routers which come with a USB2 wireless adapter. I have set up the internet with it fine and now I have a computer sharing the internet wirelessly from the router and one connected directly to the router by an Ethernet cable. I cannot work out that how to transfer the files between the two computers using the wireless network or how to share a printer that is connected to the computer that is connected to the router via Ethernet. Any help on this would be appreciated. There just doesn’t seem to be an option to do this on windows. Both computers are running on Win XP Pro SP2.”
You can treat your wireless network as it is a wired one. On the wireless client, you can add a printer from the Printers & Faxes window which is available in Control Panel and this will be help you for file sharing and make sure that you have Microsoft File and Printer Sharing is enabled on the wireless clients' connection it will be like this My Network Places and then click on Properties. You must be sure that to implement a method of security or otherwise someone within your wireless network range located can gain the access to your computer files. Then from your run box click at Start and type \\computer_name or else type the \\ip_address and see to it that if anything comes up it may take a while for getting it. Also check that the wireless client and desktop computer can ping each other.
