Default Deleting of an autorun.inf file.

I am using a XP SP3 and my removable hdd contains an 'autorun.inf'. It appears when I attach my hdd to another PC and the open it then the autorun file is activated in the computer. When I looked up in my protected system files and found out that there is doubtful autorun.inf file confirming as a system files in each partition. But I know that there shouldn't be any info files, even though it is a system file. I think it also a type of virus which it uses the standard autorun.inf for an info file, is there no any kind of antivirus which can detect it as a VIRUS. It also seems that I am unable to delete it even I am the administrator and cannot get the access to change the attributes in virtual DOS and the access is been denied. Is there is some code in the machine for the files that have added to make it a VERY protected by windows in my computer. As I do not know everything about the computer please provides me with the specific answer and easy solution to it?

The simplest thing I have made in deleting the autorun.inf in my portable hard drive with WINDOWS Vista
    1. Disable the "Hide the System File/Folders."
    2. select/highlight the "G:\AUTORUN.INF" [G:\ = my portable HDD or USB]
    3. Right click then select "Take Ownership"
    4. Delete the annoying "Autorun.Inf"
    5. Delete the "Recycle Bin" inside $RECYCLE.BIN.

I don't consider that it has "Taken the Ownership" on vista if he didn't do the registry hack.
    Another way is...
start-->run on the field type "cmd" (without the quotes)
    the console will emerge.
type "x:" where x is your removable hdd (without the quotes)
then type "ATTRIB Autorun.inf -H -S -R" (without the quotes)
then "Del autorun.inf" (without the quotes)
    thats it!
make sure you don't have any virus left...
do that in any drive you have.
