With a surprisingly strong feature set, Photo Gallery is great for storing, browsing and organizing your photos, and does a good job with basic touching up as well. Photos are displayed as thumbnails in what looks like a pretty standard Windows Explorer view, with a tree structure on the side and a toolbar with options for viewing, sharing, and printing each photo. You can also sort photos by embedded EXIF data such as the date they were taken, and you can also tag individual people in photos. The tags are synced with your Live contacts, and can be shared through other services, most importantly the Live Photos website, but also Flickr, Facebook and others using plugins. The touchup options include color, contrast and exposure tweaking, red eye reduction, cropping, and filter effects like black and white. You can even stitch multiple shots together into a panorama.
