Default Dfs files, do I require them?

I was trying to find the reason why my 300 GB hard disk was losing so much room when I took all my games off and also gained no room for it. After some poking around I found a DFS file on my C\: drive that I knew that nothing about. But when I did properties I checked on the file to see any info on it I found it was taking up over 100 GB of room. Is there any real need for these files? They were all made or maybe modified the same day over a year ago within an hour of each other. I was also trying to search for info online about this stuff but got lots of mixed answers about it maybe because of something to do with the servers or a bug of some sort maybe. I just don’t understand why half my hard disk goes to this folder and all these files with hyper number names. Any info you can give would be helpful?

    Default

dfs files can also be created by some games too, created by AutoCad utilities, Delight Sound Files, produced by Server 2003...
Without a meaningful what you have installed and are using, there is no way of knowing if it's safe to remove them, you could easily try to renaming them and see if anything crashes.
