The program which are been installed are known as Wilcom V7.1. It is also being used for doing sewing work. It was also just and updated with the company tech people who argued that it is not their program which is creating the problem. I have a security dongle attached to the parrell port for operating of the program. It also makes the hard drive lighter for the flash all the time. Even with the dongle is not being attached.

hi... I too was suffering from the same problem, by using windows 7 and windows XP but after installing the wilcom software it might be any v8 or 9 or even the 2006 version or even after installing the sp4 , anyone of these might also create the same problem: Losing of the hibernate and standby option!!!
I then made an attempt by the cmd command: powercfg -h on it, but it also wrote that hibernate may not be turned on because of some kind of legacy driver called : trysftnt.sys , after trying to find it out the use for that driver , I found out it's that some sort of video driver and the right after installation a checked for it's making date and it was right on that date, so I just deleted it and then restarted the PC and the hibernate and standby were back when I tried the wilcom software and it WORKED just fine. So the solution was to remove this legacy driver: trysftnt.sys, I will suggest you to try the cmd command to confirm it that the same driver is not causing your problem too!!
Wish that it might help u!!
