What is use of CMOS and why its being used in the computer?

The CMOS represents as complementary metal oxide semiconductor and it is also called as battery which store the date, time, and system setup limit for your computer. This is being stored in your CMOS even if your computer is being shutdown and whenever switch on your computer the system get back the date and time and the other information is used by the BIOS.
