Well, visually at least in the fact that the optical "ray" is visible, and the laser is not visible.

A higher accuracy of laser positioning.

The main difference is that the laser can operate almost any surface.

I, for example, optical for kitchen table were not working properly, had to invent a rug, a laser - only way to go.

Heard that the laser is not suitable so that raised it to 1-2 cm, it is still distrust and it is not convenient when working on a small table because... mice had to rise...

We A4Tech X7 Oscar Laser back that's why. They say a little uncomfortable at the carpet, any movement in the elevated position of the mouse is, however inconvenient. Changed to another. Probably the same result. Seen subdued…

At the time of separation from the pad cursor shifted.

Hopefully imagine that it would be in play at this place.

At a height of 1 cm is exactly the response. Then abruptly disappears.

To play at different FPS is not observed in the mouse indicated above.

Most likely what you saw was a particular feature instance.

The response at various altitudes is a feature of each instance. Gender year already buy Logitech MX-620 and no sign of response at 5 mm from the surface no But I would argue about the fact that the lasers worked equally well on all surfaces. I found out that the best surface for my mouse is a tough rough black surface.

Sometimes have to work in databases and tables on A4 Tech X6-60D USB & PS / 2 Laser mouse. Terrible sensations: the cursor jumps is to raise a little mouse. Management not configurable. Microsoft's intellectual Mouse after it just seems perfectly comfortable.

No problems with laser mice A4-Tech is not observed to take it home, in combination with aluminum mats at all, no complaints. The truth is with switching sensitivity, which I prefer at least stand. Even my Logitech laser is, it is also no problems noted, although the use of its account in the very unsuitable for the surfaces.

So if someone thinks, laser or optical, then my advice - clearly laser. Recently there have been new optical mice with a "sly" sensor (recognized at a high cost and the blue LED lights).
