If you have saved your files blindly without changing the location, you can be assured that the files are saved in the 'My Documents' folder of the current user profile.

If you log In as a different user, it can be quite painstaking to keep a tab on all your documents. Instead, you can change this default folder destination to a folder of your choice. To do so, carry out the following steps:

From the 'Tools' menu, select 'Options'.

In the 'Options' dialog box that appears, click the 'File Locations' tab.

Name:  Change the default file saving location.jpg
Views: 353
Size:  48.8 KB

Select the 'Documents' option under the 'File Type' section.

Click the 'Modify' button.

Browse for an appropriate folder where your files would be saved.

Once done, click 'OK' to save changes made.

Click the 'Close' button.

Exit and restart Word for changes to ta ke effect.
