Sync your folders

Using good Sync
Once Good Sync Pro has been downloaded, you can use the application to sync files and folders. To do so, follow the steps below:

From the 'Job' menu, select 'New'.

Enter an appropriate job name.

Click the 'Synchronize' radio button and click 'OK'.

Click 'Browse' on the left hand side and select an appropriate folder.

Click 'Browse' on the right side of the interface and select the destination folder.

To start synchronizing the folders, click the 'Analyze button'.

Once folders are analyzed, click the 'Sync' button.

Backup Sync
synchronization is a one way process. This means that changes made on the left side will be updated on the right side, but changes that have been made on the right side are not propagated to the left. To perform a backup sync follow the steps below:

Run Good Sync pro.

Select the source and destination folders appropriately.

Now, from the 'Job' menu, select 'Options'.

From the 'Sync direction' drop-down, select the '1-way sync' option.

Name: Sync your folders.jpg
Views: 35
Size: 22.3 KB

To save previous version of files, select the 'Save previous versions of deleted/replaced files' checkbox.

Auto Sync
The Auto Sync feature allows the user to configure options in the '[Sync] options' dialog box which would then sync files or folders automatically as configured. To use the 'Auto Sync' feature:

From the 'Job' menu, select 'Options'.

Select all checkboxes under the 'Auto' section as shown.

Make sure the 'Use Job tags to ensure that the same folder is synced' check box is selected.

To send the sync results to an email id, enter an e-mail address in the text box as shown.

To schedule a task, click the 'Configure' button in the '[Sync] options' dialog box.

Click the 'Schedule' tab.

Click 'New'.

Select appropriate options from the 'Schedule task' and 'Start time' drop-down lists respectively.

For advanced schedule settings, click the 'Settings'tab.

To start the task only if your system is idle, select the 'Only start task if computer has been idle for' check box and enter appropriate integers in the boxes as required.

If you're using a laptop, select the 'Stop task if battery mode begins' check box to preserve battery power if required.
