Resolving Proxy setting

I was told that Google Chrome browses the Internet at higher speeds as compared to other ordinary browsers. But strangely, it works a lot slower than other browsers. I am quite sure that this isn't because of my slow connection, since all other browsers perform well without causing any slowdown. However, I noticed a message saying 'Resolving proxy' in the lower left corner of the browser. Please help.

It is true that Google Chrome is among the fastest browsers available for public download. The problem that you are facing can be rectified with a minor tweak. Follow the steps below:

Launch Google Chrome and click the 'Customize and control Google Chrome' button that is present right under the 'Close' button on the top-right corner of the screen. It is represented by the symbol of a tool.

Click 'Options' from the list.

Click the 'Under the hood' tab.

Scroll down to the 'Network' section and click 'Change proxy settings'. You will now be able to view the 'Internet Properties' dialog box.

Click 'LAN Settings'.

In the dialog box that opens, clear the 'Automatically detect settings' check box.

Click 'OK' to save changes.

Note: Making changes to the proxy settings may cause problems for those users who share their internet connection as well as for novice users. If this is the case, then it is wise to consult your network administrator before making the changes described.
