Step1
Click on the "Start" button, which is just situated on the bottom side of the desktop. In Windows XP which is labeled with "Start" along with a small Windows icon; in Vista it is a huge Windows icon.

And after that set off to the Start menu and choose the "Run/Search" command option. In XP OS this is "Run," whereas in Vista OS it is displayed as "Run/Search."

Enter the command "msconfig" lacking the quote symbols into the Run/Search dialog box. This opens the system configuration utility. Which is one of the most influential utility in all versions of Windows.
Step4
And after that Left-click on the button tagged as "Launch System Restore." This opens a fresh window with a calendar on it. All highlighted date on the calendar signify a system restore point.
Step5
Decide a date on the calendar when your PC was still operating without issues. You want to select the date that is nearby to the present date.
Step6
And at last click on the "OK/Confirm" to start on the system restore utility.
