The Asus Eee PC is the pioneer of the netbook revolution, The 1008HA followed with stylish looks and a bigger screen. The 1005HA is the newest member of the Seashell family,and it is an improvement over its predessors.

The 1005HA has a 10.1 in WSVGA LED screen, with Intel Atom N270 CPU, 1 GB memory, and a 160GB hard disk. All other netbook standard features are present. Asus also provides additional 10GB storage on the cloud for its buyers.

The netbook has a 6-cell battery, which means a bulkier chassis, but gives superior battery life. During our test period the battery lasted for nine-and-halfhours. The keyboard is also impressive and is quite comfortable to use. The keys are responsive, allowing easy typing. The touchpad operation is accurate and precise.

The 1005HA has multiple connectivity options, Gigabit Ethernet card with 802.11 n-based wireless connectivity standard and Bluetooth 2.1 for data transfer. The LED backlit screen looks good with a resolution of 1024x600. It has three USB, Ethernet, VGA, Speaker out and Mic in ports along with a multi-card reader as standard.

Considering its price-performance ratio, the 1005HA definitely scores better than its siblings. Although it doesn't look stunning compared to its rivals, yet it steals the show with its performance, battery life and low price tag.
