    Default Email Groups Problem

I have changed my em ail service from Pipex to Goog email but now have a small problem. Previously, when I sent an email to a group I received a copy via the group mail so I could see that it had been sent. With Googlemail I do not receive a copy. The only time I can be sure it went is if! get a reply from a group member or look in the group files, but this is time consuming. I have looked at my group setting and it seems OK.

Is there anything wrong at my end or is this how Google works? I have asked the groups if they have problems but no¬one uses Google. I belong to 15 groups and all the results are the same.

You don't say how the email group is set up. If this is a group s'et up using Googlemail, then it is a simple matter of adding your email address to the group so that it is sent a copy of the email along with everyone else's.

Click on Contacts in the left hand column of the main Googlemail page. The left-most column of the Contacts page show the different groups set up on the account. Left-click on one of them to show the addresses included in the groups. Click in the text box at the top of the column with the names in and start typing your email address. Googlemail will suggest possible addresses as you type.

Press the down arrow to select the correct address and press the Return key. Your email address has now been added to the group. We have also experienced problems with changing email addresses when using groups where emails are sent to a single address and then forwarded on to the group. They may send a warning message, or maybe just quietly ignore the email (as happened to us once). If this is the case, contact the list administrator for more help or reregister with the service.
