Thread: Screenshots key Problem in notebook pc

I cannot get the Print Screen button on my notebook PC to work. The button has Insert written on it as well. There is nothing in the clipboard when I try to paste the screenshot after pressing the key. All other buttons appear to work.

Sometimes notebooks double up keys to save space. There is a special button for accessing the secondary function. Normally the legend on this key is a different colour that matches the doubled up key. Many notebook use blue but this is by no means a standard. Hold down this button, usually labelled 'function' or 'fn', and then press the Prt Scn button.

lf this doesn't work, Gadwin Printscreen is an alternative. This can be downloaded. Once this is done, right-click on the Gadwin icon in the Notification Area and select Properties. Click on the top icon in the left-hand column labelled Preferences.

The top dropdown menu lets you select a different keyboard shortcut to use to take screengrabs. Click on Apply when you have selected a shortcut.

The other reason for using Gadwin is that it is far more versatile than the Windows Print Screen. Click on the Destination icon and you can set it to automatically save the screen grab as a file as well as, or instead of, to the clipboard.
