I bought one of these and thought it would be interesting to share. I lurk the site and have never made a real post, so here it is! I thought I'd make a real post rather than just welcome myself before posting. I don't really know where to put a peripheral review so here it will be posted.
Here is my story:
I bought this before xmas because my friend found one of those oldschool projectors that heat up super quickly. He got it for free and we've been playing movies/video games on it since we don't own TVs (college students). He has been running a direct input set up using his laptop's vga port to the old school yellow/red/white RCA cables.
I decided to pull the trigger on a similar one but couldn't shell out full retail for a big home theater projector that is any decent, and i know the ones similar to his are usually pretty busted. He has one of those old classroom ones that aren't very usable.
I went with the Aaxa M1 micro projector directly from Aaxatech.com because it was cheap and offered the most power in this budget. I also grabbed a netflix account to stream movies.
Review:
So far, I'm very excited about the product. It can blast huge images outside in the evenings/night for small get-togethers. It offers 66 lumens for the 0 price tag whereas the next step up in projectors is around 0 for only 100 lumens. I believe those ones are twice as big as well and cannot be run on battery life due to wattage. It also has on-board memory built in to the system (my reason for opting for this over the dell micro projector) allowing me to put movies directly on the unit. It adds to the portability.
