When looking for performance and style, desktop replacements by Sony are good, but not very affordable. The Vaio CW is here to change this reputation. This laptop is powerful, has great features, looks good and above all, it's affordable. Built around a performance chipset, the Intel PM45, the Vaio CW is powered by an Intel Core 2 Duo P8700 processor, which is clocked at 2.53 GHz and has a 3 MB L2 cache. There's 4 GB DDR3 RAM, a roomy 320 GB hard drive, a FireWire and an HDMI port, and discrete Nvidia GeForce GT230M graphic. You can not only store lots of data and transfer it faster, but also watch movies and play games at moderate resolutions. Considering these factors, it's clear that the Vaio CW can be used as a desktop replacement, for home entertainment and for a SOHO a setup.

Other features include 2 USB and a VGA port, and card readers for Sony's proprietary cards as well as standard SD cards. Connectivity is offered via Gigabit Ethernet, Wi-Fi Nand Bluetooth. Finally, the unit ships pre-loaded with Windows 7 Home Premium. Performance is the strongest point of this laptop because its hardware is high-end and well chosen-mainstream applications will run seamlessly and even demanding design suites will be manageable.

More than stylish, the Vaio CW is elegant and has a sober look. The electric blue lid and bezel are glossy and the black keyboard and frame are matte. This combination along with the raised palm rest looks classy. The plastic body is sturdy, except that the bezel is slightly delicate where it meets the screen. Ergonomically, the laptop is also very comfortable to use.
