If you're a professional photographer you wan't afford to wait for too long because you have only one chance to capture those intense moments. The San Disk Extreme Pro is the speediest CF card on the market with UDMA 6 interface. Translating to 600x, San Disk claims this card can transfer data at up to 90 MB/s. But you need a UDMA-capable DSLR camera such as the Canon EOS lOs Mark III or Nikon D300 to harness the true potential of this card. It will be compatible with other DSLR cameras that use CF cards but you won't get such steroidal speeds. However, it's much faster than ordinary CF cards. We used a USB card reader and the Extreme Pro could read at over 20 MB/s and write at 16 MB/s. You'll get speeds above 40 MB/s if you use a UDMA card reader with FireWire interface. Entry-level Compact Flash cards are sluggish and cannot perform beyond 3 to 5 MB/s.
