Thread: Why did my laptop battery life suddenly decrease?

I have an Acer Aspire One (netbook) and a few days ago its battery life was around 2 hour. But yesterday and today, the battery life suddenly decreased to only 1 hour, if not less. I think it is because I put on the battery plug on the whole night..? And are there any things I can do to increase the life of my battery?

Possibly not much you can do. The trouble with all laptop batteries is they have some cells and if one fails, as it can quite suddenly; the performance of the whole battery is damaged. It is possible that regular charge/discharge cycles might help but unlikely. Charging over night should not cause a problem though.

maybe therei s a dust buildup and it is cuasing it to report the amount of time incorrectly.
