We are big fans of the previous netbooks, Samsung, so anxious to see their new model, N210. Things certainly get off to a good start. From the side, this attractive laptop, and we, as white matter. He feels strongly and seems well made, taken in the bag all day, especially as it comes in a protective carrying case for slip.

Use during the travelling confirmed an excellent battery life nine hours and 29 minutes - this is a lot to work a full day away from the wall outlet.

The opening screen shows the chiclet-style keyboard. This is a very good keyboard with a decent size keys. We found them flexible and easy to type on, which allows us to quickly and accurately type long documents.

Touch Panel, under very flexible and accurate. It's a bit strange that he does not support multitouch gestures, especially in this netbook running Windows 7 for beginners, which supports them. We found the buttons were responsive, although they are flush with the body and can be difficult to feel: placing them so that they overhang the edge would be better. Keyboard button can be used to switch the touch pad, which can be useful if you are typing, and do not want to be disturbed, accidentally leaning on it.

10.1in screen has a standard netbook-1024x600. This is just enough for light office work and some web browsing, but some dialog boxes may go to the bottom. Its quality is not the best thing we've ever seen. Viewing angles a little stiff, so you need to place on the screen carefully to get the best picture quality. Even then, we found that the colors looked washed out and the contrast was not very good. The bright part of our test images are turned to white too quickly, and loss of detail.

Like the vast majority of new netbooks, N210 has a 1.66GHz Atom N450 processor and 1 GB of RAM. He managed an overall score 16 in our performance, which is exactly as we expected. On-board graphics processor is not able to play games, although they are good enough for Windows 7 to run smoothly.

We were glad to see an easily accessible panel which allows the memory to be upgraded to 2GB. You need to abandon the existing 1GB RAM sticks, as this laptop, in common with other netbooks, has only one memory slot. 250-GB hard drive is pretty standard in today's netbooks, and should provide enough space for most people, documents and other files.

There's a standard set of ports, which we expect to see, including three USB and SDHC card slot. With regard to price, battery life and keyboard, Samsung N210 is a real success. Nevertheless, we were not that impressed with the screen. For the same money we'd buy Toshiba's NB305 or NB300 instead.
