Thread: Access deprived of mistake when using msconfig

After downloading Windows updates everything worked properly. But when I tried to disable a program from starting up by using the MSCONFIG - System Configuration program, I get following error message:

"An Access Denied error was returned while attempting to change a service. You may need to log on using an Administrator account to make the specified changes"

Please let me know if there is any inbuilt method to overcome the issue. Thanks in advanced.

You just need to follow these simple steps for doing this.

• Click on the Start button, Click "Run" and after that type regedit. Click "OK." This will open the Registry Editor.

• Browse the following registry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\
System\CurrentControlSet\Services\ PML Driver HPZ12.

• Click the pluses (+) for every preferred part until you reach the registry key. You may require scrolling down to navigate to the "PML Driver HPZ12" entry.

• Look in the column to the right-hand side for the entry labelled "Start." Double-click on this entry. this will open a dialogue window labeled "Edit DWORD Value."

• Change the value in the "Value Data" text box from 2 (Automatic) to 3 (for Manual). Click the OK button.

• Close the Registry Editor once you have done this. Reboot your PC.

• Try and install a program and see if the error comes again or not.
