When installing any software which uses particular files, file associations usually get changed. For example, when you install Windows Media Player, file associations for a lot of media files change. Try these steps to change the file associations so that they're used by the programs you want:
o Right-click on the file and click on "Open With I Choose Program. In the "Open With" dialog box, scroll down to select the program you want. If you don't find it there, click on .. Browse ..... and locate it. Once you've done that, check the box labeled "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file" and click "OK".
o You could also go to "Tools I Folder Options" in any Explorer window.
In the "Folder Options" dialog box, select the "File Types" tab. Here,
click on "Change" to change the file associations. If you're trying to open an older file, then click on "Advanced" and define the kind of action you want to perform with that file.
