2. There's a way to recover your bookmarks if you haven't closed your browser after you first noticed that you had lost them.
o Look for files whose names start with 'Bookmarks'.
o Look for the largest one, or the one with the latest modified date. You can open the file with Firefox or any browser to check if it's the right one. Do not close Firefox.
o Copy the file to another location and rename it bookmarks.html.
o Next, close Firefox and copy the file back into your profile folder, so
that you overwrite the existing bookmarks, html file. Restart Firefox, and check your bookmarks,
3. If the above techniques didn't work, here are some other methods of recovery you should try.
o Check the Recycle Bin/Trash for a file called bookmarks.html
o Use a 'file undelete' utility to see if you can recover the file.
To prevent your bookmarks from disappearing again, do the following:
Back up your bookmarks regularly.
Do not power-down your computer while Firefox is still running,
o Some 'cleaner' programs wipe out Firefox bookmarks. Make sure you back up all your data before you run such programs.
