The WD TV Live Hub has a large footprint than its small square and boxy predecessors but is also a very thin. It gives the same outputs as its predecessors HDMI, component and alternate video plus digital audio you once again get a USB port for hooking up a flash or outer hard drive, plus a gigabit Ethernet port to put the Live Hub on your home network.

The user interface dubbed Mocha, gives the of entirely new look. Instead of the rather weak blue background in last models, you now get to collect wallpaper from a group of attractive high-res images. Overlaying the wallpaper in a scrollable horizontal band are six principal menu items: Photos, Video, Music, Services, Files, and Setup.

Clicking on a media type or the Files icon helps you search for applicable matter on the Live Hub's hard drive pressing a red button on the general remote display up a menu of other media sources you can search DLNA servers or network shares.
