Apart from being 'high-capacity', the A-DATA SDHC is truly faster than other SD cards. The notion that CF cards are better for digital cameras is no longer true, simply because SDHC cards are here.
EATURES: The A-DATA SDHC stores chunks of data as large as 8 GB and that too at Impressive speed. Intended to serve as a second hard drive to the Asus Eee PC,
we must say it is perfectly cut out for this purpose. Other than that, one can use it
with a card reader when copying pictures shot from a digital camera to a personal computer. However you must make sure that. you have a card reader that is compatible with SDHC cards.
PERFORMANCE: First, we tested the A-DATA with the Eee PC. For the write speed test, 10.10 I 8 MB/s 8.84 I 1.22 MB/s we copied a single 1 GB file and then multiple files totaling 1 GB from the Eee PC to the card and noted the time taken. For the read test, we copied the same set of test files to the Eee PC from the card. The results were pretty good and the card performed well. For a comparison, we ran the same tests using a standard 2 GB Sandisk SD card. The speeds were considerably slower and of course, it wouldn't let us store the same number of high-resolution images. We also used the card with a Canon SXl oolS in our Test Center, which worked without any compatibility issues.
VERDICT: For its price, it's a great deal for the Asus Eee PC and for digital cameras.
FOR. Good speed, very good choice for digital cameras that support SDHC cards. AGAINST: None.
