Compact is the first thing you think of, when you run Media Player Classic for the very first time. The menu item gives the user easy access to the playlist. color control, equalizer, chapter editor and options.

It does not have a mini-player mode, but its small impact on the CPU and physical memory ensure that it doesn't cause the PC to freeze up when you listen to songs and work on another application.

Hidden beneath the surface there are tons of features that can be tweaked. Alter general features, like system tray accessibility, auto-hide options, media tag options, file type associations, playback defaults and so on.
