Default Macbook Pro 13inch compatible with SATA II HDDs

Does someone familiar whether Macbook Pro 13 inch support SATA 2 HDD or not? Right now it has Fujitsu 160GB SATA hdd but I require at least 500GB just and preferably SATA 2. This is the system data:So it looks to me that MBP has possible for 3GB link velocity, i.e. SATA 2 but I do not familiar why it is came with SATA. Is this machine compatible with SATA 2 hard drives?

I assume advantage of the post is not already opened to make an nearly identical: I too need to alter the hard drive of my Macbook Pro 13 inch. The present one is 250 GB at 5400rpm. I would wish to switch to a 750 GB at 7200 rpm.

Substituting the drive, you can input a second hard drive 2.5” SATA and extends chances that you never thought potential. You could for model make a Raid 1 (mirroring) for information is not lost if 1 disk fails, or a Raid 0 for enjoying together an incredible memory capacity and function with advanced intensive applications: video editing, sound pro, etc..

SATA ii is 100% backwards compatible with SATA. Meanwhile, almost ever acquire to no more SATA material, or not, the money stored would pay actual in my view. Samsung constructs quietly and relatively inexpensive HDDs. Technically, they belong to few power of the excellent.

I have to tell that there is an inform so complex, although it might seem, easily remove and insert screws in principle anyone with minimal computer skills could do it. You can go there , entire HDD are backward compatible in conditions of link velocity.

Then the just story you have to watch that the SATA velocities in the new MacBook Pros have a SATA 3 affiliation, and few is too SATA SuperDrive 3. The velocity of SATA 2 is so high that you will observe little difference every day. Therefore, I would even select the SSD in the Optibay doing. I have myself in my 13 "Macbook Pro and it functions great.
