I flashed my Acer notebook with the wFlash program furnished to me through Acer, I imagine it is an executable with a rom/bin document embedded to it. I too needed to familiar whether the boot block activated through SW2 require to have anything other than the floppy or CD? And do we too require an outer USB floppy.

From where did you acquire this new 1.13 ROM I have 1.08 with me. Might be at my position it is up to 1.08 at its limit and not 1.13. I am supposed to test out the recovery but as common require a .bin document. I read plenty of thread in most of the forums which reported the similar trouble but the answer furnished to them was the chief board substitute, it is rather annoying if the needs is the BOIS upload as of our case. It looks similar to the symptoms of the reported threads are the similar. I am really hoping that nothing should come up with the sticky key or the mice flying into the extreme side of the bottom corner.

Only because Phoenix mentioned that boot block will support, I bought an Acer USB Floppy. There was a dual micro switch inside below the keyboard, just if the 2 numbered switched is pressed or maintain it automatically activates the boot block. There are slightly I guess three catches at the top adjacent to esc, F4 and F12 which is clicked towards the touch pad.

Hey dude answering your queries I would tell that, it does not appear similar to the ROM document can be extracted from the wflash program. But other than that you can simply make a copy of a ROM document with the assist of a smooth functioning system and the wflash program, there you can search a choice only to save the bios in the document. The choice says that “Save the BIOS in a File”. But I would not tell you that it will really save the existing BIOS or the one that are added with the Wflash program.

I had the similar trouble in my Acer C300 notebook. Utilizing the Acer website I achieved the standard windows flash tools, and utilizing that utility I informed the BIOS to 1.13. But then as mentioed above when I too boot the system I acquire a blank display. In order to recover my BIOS I already testing utilizing a BIOS boot block run but that does not function, it actually makes a sound which means that the BIOS document can not be read. Then after on I too tested to rename .wph BOIS ROM file to .bin file and .ROM file from the acer site’s BIOS zips. I have no idea what perfectly is causing such consequences. May be there is something wrong with the document size I imagine as my .wph size is 514 kb and the ROM could be most likely 512 kb. Still now I can hear the sound telling that the documents cannot be read.
