Linear Technology Corp. has announced the LTC3576 multifunction power management IC for Li-ion/ polymer battry-based applications including hard disk drive (HDD)-based media players, digital cameras, personal navigation devices, PDAs, smart phones and automotive-compatible portable electronics. The LTC3576 features a bidirectional switching power manager with input over-voltage protection, USB on-the-go functionality, standalone battery charger, three high-efficiency synchronous buck regulators, a diode, FC control, and always-' on' LDO, all in a compact, low-profile 4x6mm2 QFN package.
