The pattern has all the magic of the autostreogram. Choosing a tile like the logo of your company won't work. What you need is a pattern which is fairly malleable, or random. This is because the autostereogram gives the illusion of depth by shifting the pixels in the patŽtern by a different degree in different positions of the plane. It is not necesŽsary to choose a tileable pattern. One easy way to create a pattern in photoŽshop is to go to Fil ter > Noi se > Add Noise and deselect A depth mask created in Bryce Monochromatic.

Enlarge the resulting image a bit, and tweak the colours or Hue/Saturation according to your choice. This will choose the appearance of your autostereogram. You can use creative patterns like a star field, rubble, shells for the stereogram of a conch, green leaves for the stereogram of a tree etc. Selecting a pattern that ties in with the 3D image makes sense. Sites have a lot of free tileable textures.
