Unlike a normal flash drive comparison which focuses more on checking performance and features set, these flash drives were put through their paces to check what kind of security option is provided and how good the security mechanism present inside these drives is. Availability of various security features - Encryption, password protection, provision for secure partition, fingerprint authentication, and individual protection for files/folders - were checked in these drives using a variety of stringent and thorough checks. Security was our main criterion but since flash drives are frequently used for transferring files, speed and performance tests were also performed using synthetic and real-world tests. For the synthetic test, we used Lavalys software's Everest Benchmark tool while the real world test comprised of copying a 1.7 GB ISO image as well as a 1.65 GB folder of 210 files.
