If you've ever copied a muIti gigabyte file onto a pendrive and taken it somewhere only to find that the file is now corrupted, you know the frustration it can cause. Corruptions during file copy can happen for many reasons - not safely removing the USB drive, insufficient power delivered to the USB port, spoilt or overheated USB interfacing chip, and so on. Such problems can be,prevented, by using a tiny utility called Teracopy. It helps ensure that files are moved to and from the pendrive correctly, and informs you about failed file transfers (if any).

Since it can replace Windows' native file transfer functions, there is the option of all file operations being handled by Teracopy alone. Also, file transfers in progress can be paused and resumed, so that if you suddenly have to run a disk-intensive application for some reason, you can run it, and then resume file transfers later. Its most attractive use however, is to handle file transfers and speed them up, on Vista (some hard disks are still slow on Windows Vista).
