Windows Vista has technologies to provide more "perceived speed" and reduce hard disk access. These are Super Fetch, which fetches required files from the hard disk in advance to keep them in RAM, and ReadyBoost to use a fast pendrive as a file cache to improve application responsiveness. These aren't available to Windows XP users natively, but eBoostr, a third-party application offers benefits close to these performance boosters. The DVD includes a demo version, which does not expire but will work for only four hours every time you restart your Pc.
