Default Usb-modem Orange Everywhere Icon 7.2 for Windows Vista

    Hello everybody,

I am desperate because they can not configure the modem USB 7.2 icon that has provided me to connect to Orange mobile internet. I have Windows Vista on the laptop and when I put the modem recognizes it but when you run the program global trotter says I can not find the device drivers. I tried to follow the steps but I can not say anything Marcelo, any drivers or drivers. Please someone who has sight set on you can tell me what might be wrong? Orange tells me that the modem is fully compatible with Vista but not the PCMCIA card. I tried it on my xp pc and it works perfectly, I do not know, I think I have something configured wrong on the computer because I have not read on the internet that people can not install. Another view is that I am a 64-bit, could that be?

    Thanks

Hello, sorry for using your post Cris77. I have the same problem that you've installed the Vista 64 yesterday, I have the same orange usb modem and nothing, I get the message that the driver.

Something that will have to configure, because the software is installed either
and if you look in the device manager where it says "other devices"
there appears the modem detected, but a sign of admiration on the side.
Please someone who can help us, tell us where is the problem?

MODEM can confirm that this is compatible with Windows Vista 64 bits? You can check this in a 32-bit Windows Vista?

Nisus thanks for responding, yesterday sent an email to Option, the producer of this modem (fast response, by the way).
I say that if it is compatible with Vista, however, since an OEM product, I can not stand, and I have to seek assistance from Orange, who was traded and we should support.

Everywhere I looked, they say it is compatible with Vista, but nobody said if all the versions, plus I do not have the opportunity to try it in any computer with vista32.
Was supposed that the light detects all types of networks, but not so with, although the modem appears in hardware, is asking for drivers which have been installed to connect the modem! Tales is something that is wrong with the installation, but where there is no lost.

Thanks again for "I hereby confirm that the S ICON 7.2 is Vista compatible. However, the3G device you have purchased is an OEM product. We are therefore sorry
that we are not able to assist you with your support inquiries. The
product has been commercialized and is supported by your local supplier.
Please contact your local supplier helpdesk-support (i.e. Orange). "

Dear Internet: I had no a problem that many described. The Orange Modem Icon 7.2 is compatible with Vista 32 bit, but what about Vista 64 bit?
At first the MODEN is not compatible, gives error message, but with patience you can. Once installed it should be added a series of files and replacing others in the driver’s folder on the root of the orange that is created when you install it.

The folder 64 is hanging in the Ares

I am "aware" Unfortunately; the blue Andalusia pantalets ICON connect the USB 7.2 in an ASUS laptop with MS Windows Vista (although it is not 64 bits). The fact is that initially worked with the system that is auto, the "Globetrotter Connect", just from December to late July. But HETE here a few days ago, ˇzaps!, Blue screen and rebound. The worst thing is that it was bouncing off the same computer, and hoping to reconnect: blue screen again.

Researchers found that for yourself and "problemilla. Joyful I just saw your question and any suggestion. Searching and searching, I enconotrado Andalusia final solution within the Web Orange Spain
Install the software, which it made available to anyone, called "Orange Internet Everywhere 8.0. From another computer, MS Windows XP, with which the "Globetrotters Connect" kept working, I downloaded the instructions and two executables: one that disables the function of the USB modem to be recognized as a DVD and the installer “Orange Internet Everywhere 8.0.

I must say that the steps must be done "exactly" in the order and time stated in the instructions for MS PowerPoint file. I went from "ready" and I did not, so it did not work. So I had to uninstall all of the "Orange Internet Everywhere 8.0" and start again, now, doing everything as it relates. After some time, since the two executives are "slow, very slow," got it, I am writing this using a modem connection of USB 7.2 Icon Orange.

Finally, say that the coverage of Orange, at least in my house, is "bad, bad," especially in the room where the render, which gives onto a courtyard (the same happens to a 3G mobile phone from Orange).

Surety If you need the files you can send in some way.

    Hello Cris77

I spent two days with the bundled modem ICON 225 Orange, trying to install it on my laptop and I just like you went to you. To connect the modem when I asked the driver? Specifically gt72ubus.sys files and Gt51Ip.sys interestingly windows would look for a folder to Vodafone, a residue of a Vodafone 3GB modem I had installed before. So I thought that maybe in conflict and uninstalled everything that I had from Vodafone in hard drive, clean the system log y... Nothing! Still asking the drivers, so they put on a plate and told him to install the Vodafone So the modem was installed but not doing anything else. Or install the Orange Internet Everywhere or sailing. And here is the solution:

    - Uninstall the modem and started again from scratch. Connect the modem and I asked the driver. I said "cancel." Windows told me that the modem was not installed properly (of course not ...).

    - I went to device manager and there appeared Spa modem with the exclamation point. Click on it and I went to update drivers and driver. I say look for the best drivers. And given two options: 1. - Mass Storage Device and USB Modem Hasp. - 2.

    - And here is the question of the quiz. We need to catch USB Mass Storage Device. Not the modem. By doing this in Windows so you can imagine that the modem is a CD-ROM and install all necessary drivers and programs!

The problem seems to be that for some strange reason windows does not detect the modem as a memory stick, but as a modem, and therefore can not access the programs you have to install Auto installer precisely the modem.
Which has cost so easy to find an egg. I'm typing this message from the connection of the modem and everything cleared up.

It should be noted that the technical department of Orange cajoler has no idea what happens, so no trouble to call you. Moreover, when they found that they could not fix it the first time I cut the call, the operator and the second was rebounded with a very bad way saying that it was impossible not to identify the drivers from the modem, which was my problem. When I asked him to pass me with no charge to give me his name and put me on hold indefinitely. For my part I will send a complaint to the fax 912065315. If someone else is there left to face the phone. We must send the complaint with a photocopy of the DNI. Let's see if they all played a little nose, which are the first to recover but to serve ... ˇTo the queue please!

Finally it worked. On Saturday I tried to put the drivers on the page of orange (by the way do anyone thought it could download the difficulty of using the Internet, just to have internet?) And the matter was not hung over. Later I cleaned all other installations, remove the antivirus, disable the internal modem and use a modem driver in English Globe Surfer 7.2. And using the modem everywhere E-225 (narrow model) got the connection. Interestingly with the other modem by the rounded corners, not the invention!

With more time, I try to share the driver. Certainly the Orange service is rude, arrogant, incompetent, etc., etc... At this point, and according to my last two conversations with them I'm using a driver that does not work in a service that is not God! What have I achieved?

If you are so ready to call you for service, I would like seeing you taking this problem without having the pc in front and know that noses have purchased, installed or have deleted the client on your computer. The technical service is all about solving problems with the line itself, coverage, billing, connection problems, etc... Not to teach computing to people who do not know what they have ahead.

Updating the firmware with that problem is solved.
