Default Using of MS-USB baesd wheel mouse optical

I lately have been having problems with my mouse. For the last 2 days it sometimes just "shuts off" if you will without the least bit of provocation. To get it from there I have to start up again and if I unplug it from the USB port and then put it in again which triggers it to work again. This might occur maybe for 10-15 times a day and you can most likely see that why this is frustrating. It’s a Microsoft USB Wheel Mouse Optical I haven't had these sorts of problems before and the mouse is only about 7 months old. I also downloaded new drivers which are just like 10 min ago (5.0 update) and that even didn't change anything in the computer so now I hope that someone here might help me with this kind of problem?

I too have the same mouse and had the same problem with my mouse. I also noticed that whenever I pushed the cord at the part where it goes into the mouse just a little bit until you see it start working his stops the problem. I had to push mine in just sufficient to make it work with the 3 separate times before it quit turning off on me. Seems there is a loose connection inside the mouse but mine works fine now. At a point it really drove me crazy. I also banged it down and it would work for a while until I am finally I tried the push in method.
