SanDisk has launched their pSSD-S2 drives for low-priced computing systems like netbooks as well as nettops.With built in 43nm Multi-level cell NAND flash technology, the new drives are available in 8GB, 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB storage capacities they faster and suitable for any ideal systems that involve web browsing and wireless communication like VoIP the pSSD-2 and pSSD-S2 are based on parallel UltraATA interface and therefore they are named as pSSDs.

The company also promises the speed of upto 40MB/sec and write at a speed of 17MB/sec with the assistance of improved controller in these new PATA (parallel ATA) based SSDs but these drives don’t use flash file management system technology.

These SSDs might be received quickly in small and ultra-thin netbooks section promising the mobile computing market the company has not yet announced the price but they might me expensive.
