The Extreme Digital Card was developed by Olympus and Fujifilm--eamera manufacturers-for use in their digital cameras. xD cards are comparatively slower, offering a maximum speed of 5 Megabytes per second. They also have a theoretical maximum capacity of just 8 GB.
