The DataTraveler 200 (DT200) is the latest addition from Kingston in the USB flash drive segment. Kingston has released three storage capacities - 32, 64 and 128GB. The mad rush for storing increasing the amount of music, videos and important data has created a demand for higher capacities and Kingston data traveler addresses this.
All the members of Data Traveler 200 look similar, with a variation in their colours. While 32GB and 64GB sport blue-black and yellow-black combination, the 128GB is available in black. The DT200 series makes it non-slippery. The cap less design is better looking than other products available in the market. There is a sea-blue built-in LED to show whether the drive is in use or idle. The build is quality good enough. The 64GB pen drive does not require a driver to be installed, all you need to do is to plug it in. Password Traveler software is bundled with the drive. It is a useful software to store data and protect it with a password, interestingly one can create a partition for encrypted data using this software. The software also supports Windows Vista's Ready Boost technology. A negligible irritant is that one can't use Password Traveler software and Ready Boost support simultaneously.
The flash drive impressed us with its performance. In our test, it transferred a bulky 7.46GB folder consisting 836 files and 82 folders from PC to the drive in 5.3 minutes. While the same took 4.9 minutes to transfer from drive to PC. With a five-year warranty and free tech support the 64GB.
