The drive is a U3 smart drive and comes with U3 launch pad and some software already installed. Unluckily, most of software is either waste or trial-based and can therefore be rapidly removed to recover some of that 4GB of storage. The only full, free program worth keeping is Skype.
Using U3 launch pad is actually easy. When you attach drive, a floating icon is placed on desktop. Just click this to open a menu which permits you select which program to start, or modify settings.
Including your own software is also simple. One of the options on launch pad menu is an option to add new software. When this is clicked, a browser is begun and takes you to U3 web site. When you choose a program on site, you obtain an installer wizard that takes you through installation process rapidly and simply.
There are many popular commercial applications that are available for U3 platform but there are many excellent freeware programs too and range is growing constantly. The beauty of U3 is that you take your application settings and preferences with you where you go; so if you install a browser, you will never be without bookmarks and plug-ins on a new PC again.
