Though PC comes with drives, you can add extra drives to system and each is going to have its own drive name. You can include other drives to internal structure of PCs, but external drives are simple to install and give same included features of extra drives.
Instructions
• Start PC and it requires being in order to install extra drive.
• Attach drive to power source. There is power port on back side of drive you attach power plug to, then put in other end of plug into electrical outlet.
• Connect USB connection cable to USB port. Few external hard drives can attach to PC by FireWire. A FireWire cable gives quicker data transfer speed than USB connection, so if both drive and PC have FireWire port, utilize this option. FireWire port looks like USB port apart from one side of port is rounded and there is "Y"-type symbol beside it.
• Put in driver installation CD. Install drivers so PC knows how to read extra drive. Then follow instructions to finish installation.
• In "My Computer" and new drive listed in drives of PC. With Mac PC, drive symbol shows on desktop.
