Thread: Pen drive not detected

I have a problem about the USB slot of my system, which I believe you guys will certainly sort out. In fact, the issue is that, when I connect any pen drive to any USB port, either my PC hangs or the CPU usage pop up to 100 per cent (without representing any device connected). At times, I thought it might be a virus there in those devices, but those same devices work totally fine on other PC.

But, when I connect some other devices such as my mobile or my MP3, the device gets detected and runs very well I have previously formatted and reformatted my PC numerous times and reinstalled the drivers, but the problem persists. So, I request you guys to please help me out of this situation. Just because of this issue, I still have to rely upon my CD writer to transfer data. Please help.

Hello! Be sure to install the latest drivers from the Internet for your motherboard. An antivirus on Windows could also be locking up the USB drive trying to scan it. If you can get your hands on a Linux LiveCD, boot into it and try connecting your flash drive. See if the drive is accessible. Try attaching the drive to some of the other USB ports or detach all USB devices and use the flash drive. This may help you waiting for your replay.
