First download software from Microsoft which permits to use wired Xbox 360 controller to play PC games and install it on PC.

Few versions of Windows will mechanically detect controller when connect it in and prompt you to update system with related drivers. Try this first if you don’t want to download software independently.

After software is installed connect Xbox 360 controller to USB port. To make sure that it is working properly chooses Game Controllers in Control Panel of Windows. Not every game support controller; check game manual to see whether this game does.
