Thread: connecting Xbox live

My son wants Xbox live but I dint know which is the right router, so I have decided to buy a long Ethernet cable .My question is Do I just connect the Ethernet cable in the back of my internet modem and connect the other end up to the Xbox and that’s it? Or is there more to it? Any idea would be highly appreciated. Thanks in advanced.

Yes if you select to run the Ethernet cable that is all there is too it.

If your modem has more than 1 port then you are fine, if it's just a modem with one port, you will require a router.
